This region of the world offers rich dancing experiences, rooted in African, West and East Indian, and European history. Introduce yourself to bamboula, quadrille, merengue or just sample a little salsa.

Perhaps no where else on earth offers as much diversity as dance within the Caribbean.

In addition to African dances like bamboula, and a variety of different island dances, which originated with African slaves, there are spicy Latin flavored salsa and flamenco.

Then there are mambo, which originated in Havana, zouk and beguine from the French Caribbean, and other moves inspired by Jamaican dancehall music.

Many islands sponsor folkloric troupes to keep the dance culture alive.
