The Miss Lucy's experience

St. John's dining gem by the bay

You won’t find any restaurant more island authentic than Miss Lucy’s in Friis Bay, just outside St. John’s Coral Bay. I dined at Miss Lucy's my first day in St. John. That was over 13 years ago, and it keeps getting better.

Miss Lucy’s offers much more than incredible food at water’s edge. It’s an exhilarating experience, abundant with local flavor you won’t find anywhere else.

Chef Jason Walker keeps the kitchen cooking.

Go for lunch, sit on the patio and feast on West Indian favorites such as conch and kallaloo, pan-fried plantains and Johnny cakes. You’ll also find hamburgers, a Rueben made with fresh grouper, seafood salad and continental fare. But you’ve got to relish the variety of West Indian rotis– soft folded tortillas stuffed with curried potatoes, chicken and conch, beef and more sweetened with a tangy mango chutney. Miss Lucy’s has the best rotis in the region!

Dinner offers more - fresh caught fish, roasted, pan fried and potted, and Miss Lucy’s signature paella, studded with scallops clams, smoky sausage, fire roasted peppers, sweet peas and olives.

Miss Lucy’s Sunday brunches are legendary. Definitely not the “same ole same ole “ brunch fare. Try the Florentine or lobster Benedict and the banana, coconut and pineapple pancakes. Listen to live jazz and watch the gentle waves ripple a few feet away. The goats and chickens keep it real.

Miss Lucy’s is not someone’s “concept” of an island restaurant. It IS an island restaurant – authentically founded by Miss Lucy, an island icon, who created her own recipes. She lived well into her 90s. Now her son Eddie runs the restaurant, with the same extraordinary attention to detail. If you’re in St. John during the full moon you'll be blessed with Miss Lucy’s fabulous full Moon parties, complete with a pig roast and fish fry.
